Fort Flex digging suit

The Fort Flex Coverall is a practical, budget-friendly waterproof suit that's particularly well suited to cave digging, mine exploration and occasional caving trips.

Made from flexible, PU-coated polyester, it provides a waterproof outer layer that helps keep mud and water off your clothing. The smooth, coated fabric is also easy to wipe or hose clean after a muddy digging session, making it a useful alternative to getting your more expensive caving oversuit filthy.

With a 10,000mm waterproof rating, welded seams and windproof construction, the Fort Flex offers good protection against wet and muddy conditions at a fraction of the cost of a dedicated caving oversuit.

It's also worth considering for newcomers to caving or mine exploration who aren't quite ready to invest in a specialist oversuit, particularly for occasional, relatively low-contact trips where abrasion resistance is less important.

It's important to recognise its limitations, though. This is a general-purpose waterproof work coverall, not a purpose-built caving oversuit. While it's a cost-effective option for digging and lighter underground use, the fabric won't stand up to repeated crawling, squeezing and abrasion against rock in the same way as a proper Cordura or PVC caving suit. For regular or more demanding caving, we'd recommend investing in a dedicated oversuit instead.
